Potty Training

I didn't think potty training would be so stressful. Or at least it was at first. We have been trying for about 2 or 3 weeks and at first she would have accidents on the floor A LOT! Then she started dancing a little when she had to go so I would make her sit on the potty for a while till she went. She would go like 2 times in her potty then 2 times on the floor everyday. It was frustrating...then on Thursday a light bulb must of went on in her head cause she went and sat on the potty without me saying anything!! I was so excited and thought maybe I should just stop bugging her about it. That day she went 9 times in the potty, she didn't have any accidents, and I never had to force her to sit on the potty!!! I am so happy she is starting to get it cause a week ago I felt like there was no hope. There is a little problem though, she uses her little training potty and if we are out some where she wont go on the big potty's. I have to put a diaper or pull up on her and I am hoping it doesn't make her take steps back.

Here is Lyla on her potty that plays music every time she goes. We bought her disney princess underwear and she is very excited about them.

Here is my belly at not quite 30 weeks...I feel so huge and I still have 2 and a half months to go!!

I haven't posted a picture of Jesse for a long time so here is Jesse doing what he does best. I thought I would brag a little about how awesome my husband is. He treats me like a queen. He wakes up at 6am, works out, showers, eats breakfast, makes my breakfast sometimes(its oatmeal in the rice cooker which keeps it warm till I get up). He goes to work at 8, comes home at 5:15 and 90% of the time makes dinner. I hate cooking and he says he enjoys doing it. Saturday mornings he always watches Lyla so I can sleep in longer. He would do anything for me no matter how unreasonable I am being. Not only does he support us financially, he is also a full time student working on getting his bachelors in software development. He ALSO has a financial website called www.pffirewall.com (I don't know how he makes time to do everything that he does). I am so very grateful to have him as my husband. I would be lost without him. I love you honey!

Lyla's 2nd B-day Party

Here are a few pictures of Lyla's 2nd birthday party which I think was a huge success. There were games so all the kids had fun. There was food so all the adults had fun. It was a finding nemo party so I decorated the best I could on a budget.(which explains the homemade ocean/sand cake). Finding nemo is kinda an old movie so it was a little difficult finding decorations for cheap. We lucked out and got the last nemo pinata at target though woohoo!! The party was from 2-4 which is lyla's nap time so she was pretty out of it the whole party so that was a little disappointing. Other than that it turned out great and we were all pooped afterwords. Thank you to all those that came, we hope you had a good time!

2 Already

My little girl is already 2 years old!!! Where has the time gone? Lyla has become a want to do everything herself, doesn't need anybody, risk taker. Shes not a mommy's girl or a daddy's girl. When I punish her she goes to her daddy and when daddy punishes her(not very often)she comes to me. She LOVES playing at my moms house with her cousins and uncles. She loves any kind of stuffed animal or baby doll. We have at least 30 of them. When I ask her where baby sister is, she lifts up my shirt and kisses my belly. She already loves her little sister. Theres no words to describe how much we love this little girl. Happy Birthday Lyla!

Update

Here is a new picture of my belly at 25 weeks. Everything so far is great besides the fact that I am now lactose intolerant. My favorite thing to eat is cereal so i'm pretty bummed about that.

This picture is of little orphan Lyla. She will be 2 on Feb. 2nd...I can't believe how big she is. At the moment she LOVES Finding Nemo(which is "Monee" in Lyla's words). I have been wanting to throw her a birthday party so we decided to make it a nemo theme(will post pics afterwards of course).

ps- Jesse is doing a little better. He still can't drive or walk very good so he is working from home which is nice. He says that he isn't that dizzy if he just sits there but if he walks or turns his head then he gets nausous. I hope he gets better soon so he doesn't have to be miserable anymore.

Hospital

Wednesday night we were getting in bed and Jesse said that he was dizzy all of the sudden. So we got up and thought maybe if he walked around a little that he would feel better. Well, it didn't help, his eyes were moving like if you look at someones eyes after they were spinning around in circles. I got online and started looking up what could be wrong with him. Then he started throwing up. He was white as a ghost and sweating like I have never seen before. I called my parents and they came and took us to the hospital. My sister stayed at our house with Lyla. By the time we got to see the Doctor Jesse had already thrown up about 7 times. The doctor checked his ears and eyes, asked a few questions, then left. The nurse came in to give him an IV and give him something else to stop the puking(but nothing for the dizzyness for some reason). Jesse fell asleep really quick and slept for about an hour or so. The doctor came back in and described what was wrong with him. He said that there are little hairs far in your ear that have little crystal like rocks on the tips of them and those are what tells your brain that you are turning your head. Well sometimes one of those little rocks swells up or falls off the hair and just keeps rolling around in your ear. The only way to make it stop is to wait for the crystal to dissolve in your ear. It can take 2 days to 2 weeks or even more for some people. It is called Vertigo. Jesse has the kind that he is constantly dizzy with no breaks. So he can't walk or stand and he obviously can't drive. I am very glad that my family lives so close and they were able to help us out. Jesse isn't throwing up anymore but still dizzy. He has to lay in bed or on the couch all day and most of the time with his eyes closed. If you all can keep him in your prayers we would appreciate it.

Christmas 2008

We spent Christmas eve and Christmas Day at my parents house up here in Utah. It was fun and exhausting at the same time. They got a Wii and my arm was sore the next day just from bowling! I must be really out of shape. The food was awesome, nobody wanted the traditional turkey so my aunt brought ham and my parents made prime rib and everyone else was in charge of the sides which were also very good. Here are only a couple pics of it all.

After Christmas we drove down to California for a week to visit the Michelsen fam.
On Sunday we went to church then after played this board game. We had to put makeup on Joe and he had to sit there the rest of the game like that. Janson had to draw a mustache and glasses on his face, it was really funny.

On Monday they all went snowboarding, Jesse and I are sick of the snow so we didn't go but they all had fun.

Tuesday we went to disneyland!! I was so excited cause I love Disneyland even though Jesse hates it. I was also excited about Lyla going for the first time. I didn't take very many pics cause I video taped a lot instead. She wasn't too sure about it all at first. Her first smile of the day was when she saw the dumbo ride. She fell asleep right when we got on the Its a Small World ride so of course we had to go on it again when she woke up. She seemed to like it but still not too many smiles, she was too busy looking at everything. At the end of the night we had to buy her something since it was her first time there so we got this really cute VERY overpriced little minnie mouse beanie.

Wednesday we had a new years eve party. Not too many people came but we played some games which was really fun. I fell asleep at 11:45...I was too tired to care about anything else but sleep.

Thursday we went to my Grandparents house for lunch and to watch the rose bowl. It was nice that my brother came and saw Lyla since he hadn't seen her in over a year. My aunt and uncle got a dog which Lyla loved to chase around. So it was a pretty nice relaxing day.

Friday we all went to the beach. I was excited to go cause I hadn't been since we went to Hawaii forever ago. We got there and it was very cold. There was nobody around. We ate some burgers and flew some kites. Then everyone was ready to come home.

Saturday was Jesse's birthday so we went to a very yummy japanese food restaurant. We left at about 10pm to drive home...we drove the whole way and got there at 8:30am. We were all exhausted and glad to be home.
